Dr. Aguirre received his MD degree, then completed a three-year residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Prior to medical school in 1990, Dr. Aguirre had worked as a Physician Assistant for Macgregor Medical Association in Houston. After his training he joined MacGregor Medical Association in San Antonio prior to helping found MacGregor Medical Center of San Antonio in 2000.

Dr. Aguirre is married and fluent in Spanish.
