 MacGregor Medical Association arrived in the early 1990's in San Antonio, established a widespread presence, then left town in January of 2000. MacGregor Medical Center of San Antonio (San Antonio MMC, P.A.) was born on January 24, 2000 when the ten founding physicians, under the leadership of Dr. Jose Sanchez, agreed to form a new practice a day after the dissolution of the San Antonio branch of the Houston-based medical group. In response to a community need, we formed the MacGregor Medical Center of San Antonio, a phoenix from the ashes, two days after MMA closed its doors, and we have served an expanding group of patients ever since.

The ten board-certified physicians of MacGregor provide a broad spectrum of primary care services, with six internists, four family practice physicians and one pediatrician. One of our physicians is a certified palliative care physician, and another a board certified pediatric infectious disease specialist with a Masters in Public Health. We offer preventive care, physicals and immunizations in addition to our main service of diagnosing and treating common and not-so-common ailments. We devote special care to our diabetic and hypertensive patients. Excellent teams of hospital-based physicians care for our hospitalized patients in all of San Antonio's major hospitals. 

We encourage each one of our patients to identify one of us as his or her primary physician, but we provide extensive coverage for each other to meet our patients' needs.

Facilities: Our facilities are located in a beautiful brick, single story, stand-alone structure across Fredericksburg Road from USAA, at the intersection with USAA Boulevard. Constructed in 1994 for USAA and acquired by us in 2002, it underwent extensive renovations in 2003. We have ample free parking adjacent to our building, and the entire site is wheelchair accessible. Our spacious and well-lit entry welcomes you to the soaring waiting room, where you will find multiple receptionist areas.

Each physician works in a "pod" of an office with three adjacent exam rooms. We have a centralized medical records area and a telephone assistant area, where a large staff can schedule your appointments and take messages for your provider.
